Last Friday, Porto Central and the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES) – Presidente Kennedy Campus held the graduation ceremony for 25 students who completed the course “Introduction to the Implementation of Basic Industries and Construction of Physical Infrastructure,” designed for the company’s employees.

The initiative was part of Porto Central’s Professional Training Program (PCP) and the Workforce Mobilization and Demobilization Program (PMD), reinforcing the company’s commitment to promoting human and professional development among its team.

The classes were taught by IFES professors and covered essential technical and socio-environmental competencies for the port sector, with modules on:

  • Citizenship and Professional Ethics

  • Port Organizational Culture

  • Quality and Productivity

  • Communication and Portuguese Language

  • Occupational Safety

  • Applied Basic Mathematics

  • Environment and Sustainability

Participants received certificates issued by IFES, attesting to the quality of the training and the institutional recognition of the program.

For the graduates, the course represented an opportunity for both professional and personal growth.

It greatly contributed to our professional development. We were able to connect our practical work at the construction site with theoretical knowledge, which is very important”, highlighted Moacir dos Santos Filho.

We learned a lot throughout the course. This knowledge will help us not only within the port but also in our daily lives. It’s an experience I’ll carry with me" , added Geremias de Lima.

Through initiatives like this, Porto Central reaffirms its commitment to valuing people and strengthening partnerships with leading educational institutions such as IFES, encouraging continuous learning and the development of local skills.

New Phase Expands Access to Technical Education for the Local Community

In its next phase, the course will be open to the local community, broadening access to technical training and professional qualification focused on the port sector and infrastructure chain.

This expansion represents a significant step in strengthening ties between Porto Central, IFES, and neighboring communities, offering new opportunities for residents of Presidente Kennedy, Marataízes, and São Francisco de Itabapoana who wish to prepare for the job market and the challenges of regional development.
