Social and Environmental Management

For the implementation of good environmental practices and continuous improvement in the processes and activities developed throughout the Porto Central life cycle, we are committed to complying with a series of Environmental Programs agreed with the federal environmental authority, the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and of Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA). This commitment aims to seek environmental excellence, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and environmental standards, during the implementation and operation phases of the industrial port complex, as well as sustainable, responsible and inclusive development.

Continental Programs

The Continental Programs aim to guarantee the environmental quality of the terrestrial area of influence of the implementation of Porto Central, from the monitoring of the biodiversity of continental environments, including fauna and flora, atmospheric emissions, generation of waste and effluents and emission of noise, as well as the reduction and control of impacts related to the suppression of the vegetation, construction of onshore infrastructure and operation of the facilities.

Os Programas Marinhos têm o objetivo de monitorar, compensar e atenuar os potenciais impactos sobre os seres vivos, águas e sedimentos presentes na região costeira adjacente ao Porto Central, que porventura estejam relacionados às obras de instalação das estruturas marinha e atividade de dragagem, bem como à operação dos terminais, de forma a controlar a qualidade do ambiente e manter a viabilidade dos usos praticados na região.

The Environmental Emergency Programs aim to qualitatively identify and analyze the risks associated with the implementation and operation of Porto Central and establish a system aimed at the implementation of guidelines, management procedures and emergency plans that will be adopted with the mobilization of resources with a view to accident prevention and minimization of environmental impacts.
