Students visited key areas of the project and learned firsthand about socioenvironmental and infrastructure actions

Students enrolled in the course “Introduction to the Implementation of Basic Industries and Physical Infrastructure Construction”, offered by Porto Central in partnership with IFES – Presidente Kennedy Campus, took part in a technical visit to the project site this Wednesday (19/11). The activity was part of the course’s closing program and allowed the students to see strategic areas of the project up close.

During the visit, the students learned about the socioenvironmental initiatives and areas that make up the Phase 1 actions of the project. The experience connected classroom learning with the reality of the port, deepening their understanding of the implementation stages and the professional opportunities that are beginning to emerge.

Training aligned with the future of the region

This is the second edition of the course, this time directed at residents of Presidente Kennedy, Marataízes and São Francisco de Itabapoana—municipalities that make up the project’s direct socioeconomic influence area (AID). The initiative is part of Porto Central’s professional training efforts aimed at achieving the goal of at least 70% local workforce in priority job positions.

For Porto Central, bringing the community closer to the project is essential for strengthening relationships and expanding future opportunities.

“The visit allows students to see the port up close, which strengthens connections, promotes transparency and shows that opportunities are truly taking shape. Initiatives like this open doors and can transform realities,” says Léa Reis, Porto Central’s Socioeconomics Coordinator.
