Technical high school students in Occupational Safety toured the Phase 1 construction site and participated in a hands-on learning session with the project’s team.
Last Tuesday (28), Porto Central welcomed students and teachers from Ana Nunes Viana Public School, located in Barra do Itabapoana, São Francisco de Itabapoana (RJ), for a technical visit to the enterprise’s facilities.
The students, enrolled in the Occupational Safety technical program, had the opportunity to closely observe the ongoing Phase 1 construction works and learn about the safety and environmental measures implemented on site.
The activity is part of Porto Central’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with local educational institutions, fostering community ties and inspiring young people to explore careers in the port industry.
Field experience and practical learning
During the visit, the group toured the seedling nursery, the Phase 1 construction site, and other strategic areas of the enterprise, accompanied by Porto Central’s technical team.
The experience was marked by knowledge exchange and the practical application of lessons learned in the classroom.
Workplace safety lesson
The program also included a special session on Regulatory Standards (NRs), led by occupational safety technician Emerson Adriano from Porto Central.
During the session, Emerson presented the safety procedures applied on-site and emphasized the importance of prevention, care, and collective responsibility in daily work routines.
Education and professional development
The visit is part of Porto Central’s initiatives focused on professional training and strengthening dialogue with the local community and educational institutions.
Such actions help bring the enterprise closer to the population, stimulate interest in technical careers, and prepare future professionals for the job market.
