The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) scheduled, for July 20th (Thursday), at 6pm, a Public Meeting to discuss aspects of the Installation License for Phase 1 of Porto Central, before of the beginning of works. The event will be held at Emeief Jaqueira Bery Barreto de Araújo, located on Rua Projetada S/N, in the community of Jaqueira, in the Municipality of Presidente Kennedy (ES).
Residents of the municipalities of Presidente Kennedy (ES), Marataízes (ES), São Francisco de Itabapoana (RJ), Itapemirim (ES), Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (ES) and Campos dos Goytacazes (RJ), places that are within the area of Direct and Indirect Influence (AID and AII) of the project, who have difficulty traveling to the event location, may request access to transportation, to be provided by Porto Central. The meeting, open to the public, free of charge and with voluntary participation by citizens, is part of a mitigation measure required by Ibama that included 11 other preparatory meetings, already held by Porto Central between the 3rd and 11th of July, in the AID municipalities what's up.
At the Public Meeting, the port will explain, among other points, its construction strategy in phases, showing the schedule in this initial phase, called PHASE 1, scheduled to begin in 2023, with the construction of 4 of the 70 berths designed in the MasterPlan (global project covering approximately 2,000 hectares).
It will also clarify the job vacancies created, which will be aimed primarily at local residents, including the requirement that contracted companies have a majority of workers from the region on their staff. It will also give priority to prepared local suppliers.
