On July 13, 2021, Petrobras and Porto Central signed a contract to carry out oil and derivatives transshipment operations at the Porto Central liquid bulk terminal, under development in the Municipality of Presidente Kennedy, in the south of the State of Espírito Santo .

“Having the biggest player in the oil and gas industry in Brazil as one of Porto Central’s customers, along with other international oil companies, reinforces the importance of the project for the market”, said the CEO of Porto Central, José Salomão Fadlalah.

The Porto Central liquid bulk terminal will be 25 meters deep and will have four berths capable of receiving VLCC class ships with a capacity of 2 million barrels of oil. Porto Central is today the only port project in the implementation phase capable of meeting the growing oil production, which demonstrates its relevance in the logistics matrix of the major players in the market.

The port's First Phase will consolidate the beginning of the development of the Porto Central Energy Hub. In addition to meeting the demand for the movement of crude oil and the import and distribution of petroleum derivatives, it will also serve the demand for natural gas, as well as the generation of clean energy, through solar and wind projects, which will also enable large-scale production of green hydrogen and ammonia to serve international and domestic markets.
