Porto Central, with the support of DVF Consultoria, held the second virtual seminar called “Seminar II – Impacts of Large Projects in the Regions: CSP Case (Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém -– CE)”, on September 9, 2020, at 5 pm :00 hours via the Zoom Platform, for guests and members of CAMPOC – Monitoring Committee for the Socioeconomic Monitoring Program (PMSE), CGDR – Management Committee for the Regional Development Support Program (PADR) and CGDR – Management Committee for the Development Program Mobilization and Demobilization/Professional Training (PMD/PCP).

The objective of the event was to share the experience of territorial governance during the implementation of the CSP in the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, in the Municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante, located 70 km from the capital Fortaleza, in Ceará.

The event featured a presentation by Mr. Ricardo Parente, General Manager of Institutional Relations and Communication at CSP and was mediated by Mr. Durval Vieira de Freitas, CEO of DVF Consultoria. Some members of the Porto Central Socioeconomic Programs participation forums acted as debaters, enriching the discussions and reflections.

During the debate, it was possible to identify aspects that should be taken into consideration by members of the participation forums to favor the achievement of the socio-environmental conditions set out in the Porto Central Installation License, including the support and participation of state and municipal governments; the challenge of qualification and the need to understand the demands of each moment of the enterprise and; the importance and success of community participation and involvement.
