Virtual meetings brought together representatives from public institutions, trade associations, and educational organizations to set goals and align actions for 2026.
The Social Participation Forums of Porto Central play a key role in the collective development of social and economic strategies that guide the company’s initiatives. Through the Labor Mobilization and Demobilization Management Commission (CGMD) and the Regional Development Management Committee (CGDR), different sectors of society contribute proposals aimed at sustainable development, professional training, and job creation within the port’s area of direct influence.
On October 28 and 29, Porto Central held new meetings of these forums to introduce newly integrated institutions, reorganize the Working Groups (WGs), and define priority goals for the next action cycle.
Working Groups and Next Steps
The Working Groups (WGs) serve as technical and collaborative spaces dedicated to developing practical solutions for regional development.
Each group operates through areas of focus that address topics such as employment and professional training, institutional strengthening, communication and stakeholder engagement, and support for local businesses and productive chains. Together, the WGs contribute to the alignment of strategies, partner integration, and the promotion of opportunities.
The meetings gathered representatives from trade associations, educational institutions, public agencies, and civil society organizations, reinforcing Porto Central’s commitment to participatory and transparent management.
As a follow-up, it was agreed that in December 2025, each Working Group will hold a specific meeting to plan actions for 2026. The agendas will focus on strengthening cooperation among partners, improving institutional alignment, and ensuring the continuity of initiatives that promote regional development and professional training.
