  • Porto Central employees take part in integrated health promotion initiative

On the morning of Thursday (04), Porto Central employees took part in a special program at the company’s headquarters, as part of the Environmental Education Program (PEA). The initiative reinforced the importance of ongoing health care, bringing together information, prevention, and well-being in a single event.

Health professionals led an awareness session on prostate, skin, and head and neck cancers — diseases with significantly higher chances of cure when detected early.

Participants also received guidance from the Epidemiological Surveillance team on the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), with clarifications on symptoms, transmission routes, and the importance of using condoms.

Throughout the morning, several health services were offered, including:

  • Vaccination record updates;
  • Blood pressure measurement;
  • Blood glucose testing;
  • PSA testing;
  • Rapid tests for syphilis, HIV, and viral hepatitis.

For employees, the initiative represented learning and awareness. “We often end up postponing our health. Having these services available here, as part of our routine, helps a lot. It was an important opportunity to take care of ourselves", said Moacyir dos Santos.

Francelino de Jesus Filho highlighted the impact of the guidance provided: “The lecture opened our eyes to things we often overlook. The care was welcoming and well explained. It’s very positive to see Porto Central encouraging this kind of attention.”

The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Municipal Government of Presidente Kennedy, through the Municipal Health Department, which provided professionals, services, and educational materials to ensure complete and high-quality care for workers.
