Residents of the Santana Feliz community, in Presidente Kennedy, took part in a meeting promoted by Porto Central to discuss safety actions related to the transportation of rocks and waste rock used in the project’s construction works.

The activity brought together residents who live near the ES-060 highway and is part of the Environmental Education Program (PEA) – Safety and Alert, developed within Porto Central’s environmental management initiatives. The initiative aims to expand dialogue with communities located near vehicle circulation areas and contribute to safer coexistence on local roads.

During the meeting, participants received information about the transportation operation between the quarry and the Porto Central site, as well as the main measures adopted to reinforce safety along the route.

The meeting also created space for residents to share their perceptions, questions, and observations about vehicle traffic in the region. Community participation helps bring the project’s actions closer to the day-to-day reality of those who live in and travel through the area.

Among the measures presented were the identification of trucks operating on behalf of Porto Central, reinforced road signage, dust control actions, preventive vehicle maintenance, and guidance for drivers on defensive driving, traffic rules, and safe coexistence on the roads.

Meetings like this strengthen direct dialogue with communities and expand access to information about activities related to the implementation of Porto Central.
